Les Régisseurs

Yannick Lopes, accountant

“The accountant is to the company what the heart is to the human body, if the accounting is badly managed then the company does not function. Y. Lopes

How long have you been working with Les Régisseurs?

I have been an accountant for 5 years and joined les Régisseurs family a little more than a year ago. I’ve always had jobs related to numbers.

What does this job mean to you?

I love my job as an accountant, I’ve always loved numbers. For me accounting in a company is like the heart for the human body. If the heart is sick, then the body will dysfunction. The same goes for a company if the accounting is badly managed then the company cannot function sustainably.

What’s your favourite aspect of your job?

I love the fact that thanks to the figures we can analyse any situation, for example accounting allows us to know whether a building is profitable or not. I also like to reconcile the accounts at the beginning of the year because it is always a challenge for me to look for small differences and analyse them. Reconciliation of accounts is an auditing exercise that consists of identifying differences between accounts sometimes kept by several entities, this step allows us to detect omissions or errors in the entry of amounts.

In your opinion, what is the object that represents the accountant?

The object that represents the profession of accountant is the calculator! Hardly a day goes by that I don’t use it. It is the accountant’s tool by excellence.

Personal profile

What are your hobbies? My hobbies are ice hockey and movies but most of all I love spending time with my family.

What inspires you? My family, it’s the one thing I can always count on.

What object represents you? I think the object that could represent me would be a tree, because I am a stable person who can be relied on.

If you were a room in the house, which one would you be? I would be the living room because it’s a friendly place where we can get together. It’s often in this room that we spend time with our family.
