Baran Ucak, administrative assistant

How long have you been working with Les Régisseurs?

I joined les Régisseurs in October 2017, as an assistant receptionist during one year. I then had the opportunity to breathe new life into my professional career by being promoted to administrative assistant.

What does this job mean to you?

This job is a first step to be able to climb the ladder and reach my professional goal while remaining within a régie. Today I feel that I have found my way and that I have blossomed by helping our tenants and owners.. In the past, I worked in structures that gave me no pleasure and I had lost all motivation. Now I have a reason to get up every morning and I finally feel useful.

I love being able to use my knowledge to help my friends or relatives when they need it; usually they have questions about tenancy law or even about real estate in general.

What is your favourite aspect of your job?

What I prefer is diversity, the possibility to learn every day. I do not have time to be bored, I deal with all kinds of cases, both technical and administrative or even contentious. We attach great importance to dealing with each case individually in order to find solutions adapted to each person’s situation.

I also like to be the bearer of good news and to hear the joy of candidates when I tell them that their file has been selected for a flat.

What is the working tool you could not do without?

Without hesitation, I would say our management software, Quorum. We use this tool on a daily basis, and sometimes we have been unable to use it for a few hours while it was being updated. During these few hours, I did not feel productive and even useless. The same goes for the Internet, we cannot work without it.

Personal profile of Baran, administrative assistant

What inspires you?

My mother! I come from a modest family with immigrant parents, so it hasn’t always been easy. But this is my strength, I have given myself the means to succeed so that I can make my relatives proud and so that they don’t have to worry about my future.

What are your hobbies/passions?

I love shopping; I am a real compulsive shopper. When I was still living with my mother, I often used to sneak in if I went shopping so she wouldn’t see how much I had spent. Apart from shopping, I like reading and spending time with my family and friends.

If you were a room in the house, which one would you be?

I would say the kitchen, my mother used to cook specialities from my country and she transmitted this passion to me. I love to receive my family and friends and prepare dishes that we share, I love this feeling of conviviality.
